<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material whose whiteness degree is enhanced, and a recording method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The recording material, whose substrate is provided with a recording layer, has a layer containing a fluorescent brightening agent precursor for producing a fluorescent brightening agent by heating.
