Respective SF status detection part 25 detect the subfields G at the time of light emission of the display pixels from the multilevel video signals F, and a determining part 26 outputs determination signals H, when a subfield with a maximum weighting among the subfields G is a threshold or greater. A specific color compensation maintaining number-of-pulse regulation LUT 27 outputs a specific color compensation maintaining number of pulse J, according to a discharge maintaining number of pulse E, and a signal level converting magnification LUT 28 outputs a signal level converting magnification L.
