<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device wherein emission intensity (extraction efficiency of light to exterior) is high and color shift is little. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises a package which has a recessed part and contains a lead electrode and resin which holds the lead electrode; a light emitting element which is die-bonded in the recessed part; and translucent resin with which at least the light emitting element is sealed.
