PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit for a plasma display panel (PDP) for driving the large-sized AC type PDP by using a driver IC of a low capacity. SOLUTION: In the drive circuit for the PDP, the outputs of a plurality of selection circuits included in one selection circuit group are parallel connected and a driving signal is applied to one first electrode and driving signals are sequentially applied to a plurality of the first electrodes. The outputs of the selection circuit included in the second selection circuit group which outputs the driving signal within the prescribed time before the next driving signal is applied and the output of the selection circuit included in the second selection circuit group which outputs the next driving signal are floated. The driving currents and power capacity of the selection circuits are thereby increased, and the large-sized PDP is driven by the driver IC of the low capacity used for the small-sized PDP.
