PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform optimum color suppression to reduce a false color in a high luminance part and a high color saturation part of color image data. SOLUTION: A signal processor is disclosed which includes: a first color suppression gain determining means for generating a luminance signal from an output signal of an imaging means to determine a color suppression gain on the basis of the luminance signal; and a second color suppression gain determining means for generating a color saturation signal on the basis of the output signal from the imaging means to determine the color suppression gain on the basis of the color saturation signal, and the signal processor determines a color suppression gain on the basis of output values from the two kinds of the suppression means to carry out color suppression.
