METHOD OF MULTIDIMENSIONALLY EVALUATING SMELL AND FRAGRANCE PROMOTING NERVE ACTIVITY

[PROBLEMS] To provide a method of more appropriately evaluating the smelling function of a fragrance. To provide a fragrance for refreshing moods or a sympathetic nerve activity promoter by using the above method. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A smell is multidimensionally evaluated by combining at least two indexes selected from among an index falling within the category of central nerve system indexes, an index falling within the category of autonomic nerve system indexes, an index falling within the category of psychological system indexes and an index falling within the category of behavior system indexes. As the results of the application of this method, it is found out that at least one compound selected from among 2,2,6-trialkylcyclohexanecarboxlyic acid esters and 2,2,6-trialkylcyclohexenecarboxylic acid esters is efficacious as a fragrance promoting sympathetic nerve activity, and at least one compound selected from among compounds belonging to macrocyclic musk compounds and compounds belonging to camphorenyl sandals is efficacious as a fragrance for refreshing the moods.
