<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of adjusting image density, while maintaining image quality and further restraining toner or power from being consumed wastefully and time from being wasted, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the development device and a developing method. <P>SOLUTION: The image density is adjusted by setting the ratio of circumferential speed (the ratio of the circumferential speed of the developing roller to the photoreceptor drum), based on the operation experience information of the developing device (one or several pieces of information from among of cumulative operating time, the cumulative number of developing times, the cumulative time of supplying the developer to a developer tank and the cumulative number of times thereof, elapsed time from finishing the last operation until starting next operation, the time elapsed from starting of the operation, and the time elapsed after the latest supply of the developer, when intermittently supplying the developer to the developing tank) (S5 to S8, and S10); setting the ratio of the circumferential speed based on the humidity of ambient air (S9 and S10); or setting the ratio of the circumferential speed based on comparison between the detected value of magnetic permeability, when finishing the operation the last time and the detected value of magnetic permeability at the present time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
