PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a metal-matrix composite, which more surely encloses a reinforcing fiber body in a metallic foil, and to provide a method for manufacturing the metal-matrix composite. SOLUTION: This manufacturing apparatus comprises a plurality of guide rollers 5 and 6 for repeatedly bend-deforming the reinforced fiber body 12, and a hot press 9 for sandwiching and enclosing the reinforcing fiber body 12 between a first metallic foil 13 and a second metallic foil 14. When bend-deformed, the reinforcing fiber body 12 is corrected straight, and when hot-pressed, it is more surely arranged at a predetermined position. Thus manufactured fiber-reinforced metal-matrix composite 15 has the reinforcing fiber body 12 preferably more surely enclosed between the first metallic foil 13 and the second metallic foil 14.
