PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a rotating speed detecting device in a hub unit for a driving wheel known and described as the 4th generation hub unit and to detect a rotating speed with reliability by the rotating speed detecting device. SOLUTION: An encoder 17 is externally fitted and fixed to an outer peripheral face of an intermediate part of a driving shaft member 8a, and a sensor 18 is supported on a part of a cover 20 fixed to an inner end part of an outer ring 2a. In this condition, a detected part of the encoder 17 and a detecting part of the sensor 18 are faced to each other in a sealed space in which a plurality of rolling elements 4, 4 are mounted to constitute the rotating speed detecting device.
