SOLUTION: One horizontal scanning interval is divided into a first half and a second half, and the voltages to be applied to a display element in the first half and a second half are differentiated. A voltage higher or lower than a target gradation voltage is applied to the element in the first half, and the gradation voltage to be the target is applied to the element in the second half. The higher or lower voltage applied to the element in the first half is determined according to the gradation voltage of the previous horizontal scanning line, the gradation voltage of the present horizontal scanning line, and the load of the display panel including the driving circuit.
