PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection type hot water supply device capable of supplying hot water at a set hot water supply temperature, even in case of an opening failure of a water passing flow control valve, while preventing a reduction in hot water supply temperature at the time of switching water passing or water passing stoppage by use of the water passing flow control valve such as a can fluid control valve while omitting an exclusive opening and closing valve. SOLUTION: Each water heater is quantity-controlled by a system controller when can flow control valves are normal. On standby for hot water supply, only the can flow control valve of a main water heater is opened, and can flow control valves or bypass flow control valves of sub-water heaters except it are fully closed. When an opening failure in the can flow control valve of any water heater is detected (YES in SB3), the water heater concerned is separated from the quantity control by the system controller and transferred to independent control (SA5 and 6). As the independent control, when a can flow rate is detected by opening a hot water faucet, combustion is started at MOQ or more and, thereafter, hot water is supplied while adjusting it to a set hot water supply temperature by adjustment of water-hot water mixture flow by the bypass flow control valve (YES in SB7, and 8).
