PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brazing material which has a sufficient joining strength and an excellent wettability with various kinds of metals at a low melting temperature (500°C or lower). SOLUTION: The brazing material contains 25-37 wt.% Ag, 50-68 wt.% Sn, 0.5-7 wt.% Cu and 0.5-3 wt.% Ni. It is preferable that oxygen content in the brazing material is 5-100 ppm and the content of silicon, titanium, zirconium and yttrium, which originate from deoxydizers used in the manufacturing process, is not more than 500 ppm.
