SCREENING METHOD USING TBK1 KNOCKOUT MOUSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the screening of an induction promoting substance for an antiviral protein such as IFN (interferon)-βagainst LPS (lipopolysaccharide) stimulation and viral infection by using a TBK1 knockout mouse or a tissue or cell derived from the knockout mouse. SOLUTION: A substance for promoting the response to LPS stimulation or viral infection is screened by determining/evaluating the extent of the induction of an antiviral protein such as IFN-βto a ligand recognizable by TLR (Toll-like receptor)4 or a material containing the ligand in a mouse or a tissue or cell derived from the mouse by using a mouse having partly or totally depleted TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1) on the chromosome and free from the function to express TBK1 which is expressed in a wild-type strain or a tissue or cell derived from the mouse, a test substance and a ligand recognizable by TLR4 or a material containing the ligand.
