Pyridoindole derivatives with antioxidant properties, process for their preparation and their use in medical praxis

Disclosed are 1,2,3,4,4a,9b-hexahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole derivatives of general formula (III), wherein the hydrogen atoms in positions 4a and 9b are in cis configuration, process for their preparation, their use for the manufacture of medicaments and pharmacological preparations containing them. The derivatives in question have antioxidant properties and have none or only low alpha-adrenolytic activity and therefore is suggested their use for the manufacture of medicaments for the prevention and the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases in which oxidative stress or insufficient protection by natural endogenous antioxidant mechanisms play significant role.
