摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve position accuracy of respective optical axes of 1st and 2nd units. <P>SOLUTION: An optical device is equipped with a positioning mechanism 20 for positioning an optical fiber unit 11 and an optical unit 12 to a 3rd support substrate 18 which supports the optical unit 12 having a 2nd support substrate 17 which supports an optical element 15. The positioning mechanism 20 has recessed parts 26, 27, 28 for positioning which are provided respectively in the counter surface 16a of the optical fiber unit 11, which is opposed to the reference surface 18a of the 3rd support substrate 18, the counter surface 17a of the optical unit 12, which is opposed to the reference surface 18a and the reference surface 18a and balls 29 for positioning which are engaged with these recessed parts 26, 27 28. The optical fibers 14 are supported at the side of the counter surface 16a of the 1st support substrate 16 and the optical elements 15 are supported on the side of the counter surface 17a of the 2nd support substrate 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
