PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear body structure of an automobile configured so that a tray 21 to accommodate objects is installed at an opening 1 formed in the floor panel 3 of the rear body of automobile, capable of facilitating mounting and removal of the tray 21, simplifying the assembly line, and enhancing the appearance of the rear body. SOLUTION: The tray 21 is installed on the floor panel 3 in such a way as covering the opening 1 in the condition that it 21 is slided toward the body front side from a release part 9 in the body rear of the opening 1 and a seal tape 15 is interposed between the undersurface of the peripheral edge 29 of the tray 21 and the oversurface of the peripheral part 7 of the opening 1. A body reinforcing member 41 extending in the car width direction and blocking the release part 9 of the opening 1 is attachably/detachably installed behind the tray 21 to the rear body.
