PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smokeless and odorless roaster of self-contained type by which adhesion of foodstuffs causing firing or producing odor is inhibited by an indirect heating method combining an electric heat source and a heating plate (aluminum grate) subjected to ceramic treatment for reducing firing or burden of odor, smoke extraction and deodorization is performed by a simple process through an accurate temperature control and, in addition, flavor and taste not inferior to that obtained by radiant heating (cooking over direct heat) can be maintained by the effect of far-infrared radiation of ceramic and which does not need installation operations. SOLUTION: The heating plate (aluminum grate) which is subjected to ceramic surface treatment and a sheath heater are incorporated into an apparatus for inhibiting firing or production of odor by the effect of ceramic against adhesion.
