<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time and labor for assembling an electric power steering device. <P>SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device 1, an electric motor 7 for assisting steering comprises a housing 18, a stator 19, a rotating shaft 8 for output, a rotor 20, and a resolver 21 for detecting a rotation angle of the rotor 20. The resolver 21 includes a fixed portion 28 and a moving portion 29. The rotor 20 includes a rotor body 31, and a rotor magnet 32 attached to the rotor body 31 so as to integrally rotate. A rotor unit 33 is structured to include the rotor 20 and the resolver 21. The rotor unit 33 can independently form a magnetic pole of the rotor magnet 32 according to a projecting portion 30 that is a reference portion of the moving portion 29, and positioning of the moving portion 29 and the magnetic pole of the rotor magnet 32 is made to be easy.
