<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal generator which produces an optical signal with jitter imparted thereto without using a phase comparator operating with high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The optical signal generator is provided with an optical pulse generation means to generate an optical pulse signal with a uniform cycle period and a time base fluctuation imparting means to generate an optical pulse signal with jitter attached thereto, to which time base fluctuation is imparted by adding group velocity fluctuation corresponding to the time base fluctuation to the optical pulse signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
