<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine diversifying game performances and further improving interest by specifying a forenotice appearing ratio and a background changeover ratio for every performance mode. <P>SOLUTION: This game machine is provided with a plurality of performance modes 1-3 prescribing the forenotice appearing ratio indicating a ratio of performing a big win forenotice and the background changeover ratio indicating a ratio of performing a background changeover performance changing a background picture on a variable display device H. This machine changes the forenotice appearing ratio and the background changeover ratio by shifting the performance mode based on a predetermined chance. The big win forenotice and the background changeover performance are performed at the forenotice appearing ratio and the background changeover ratio according to the performance mode so that it often occurs that the background changeover performance or the big win forenotice alone is performed or the both of the background changeover performance and the big win notice are performed. The frequency of performing the big win forenotice and the background changeover performance is diversified according to the forenotice appearing ratio and the background changeover ratio.
