PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving apparatus capable of compensating an influence of a voltage drop with a small chip, and an image display apparatus equipped with the driving apparatus. SOLUTION: The driving apparatus of a matrix panel in which a modulation element is arranged in each of intersections of a matrix composed of a plurality of row wirings and a plurality of column wirings, is equipped with a row driver circuit for supplying a row signal to the row wirings, and a column driver for supplying a modulation signal modulated according to gradation information to the plurality of the column wirings, and includes a first correction circuit for correcting a voltage of the modulation signal by feeding back the potential information of an output terminal of the column driver circuit, and a second correction circuit for correcting a voltage drop due to a resistance of a connecting member between the output terminal and the matrix panel, and due to a current flowing therein.
