PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the efficient management of failure monitor screen data. SOLUTION: This method for monitoring the failure of a device connected to a predetermined network comprises: a view data generating step for generating view data by using failure data including data related with failure contents pertinent to a device where any failure is detected and the date when the failure is generated and monitor items stored in a failure data file storage part and view definition data including data related with image display contents stored in a view definition file storing part and storing the view data in a view data storing part; a step for executing the view data generation step at predetermined intervals and updating the view data; and a step for generating screen history data by using data related with the change of values of picture configuring elements included in the view data when the screen components show values different before and after the update of the view data and storing the image history data in a picture history file storage part.
