PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the mounting of a discharge ignition type counter electrode in a kerosene stove core to simplify the structure and reduce the cost, and to suppress the collection of kerosene in an inner cylinder slit in a structure having the inner cylinder slit to solve a problem caused thereby. SOLUTION: A metal foil 7 is incorporated to substantially the whole circumference of the upper part of the kerosene stove core 4 composed of fibers. Since the metal foil 7 conducts electricity, it acts as the dischage ignition type counter electrode, and the mounting of the counter electrode which complicates the structure on the core is dispensed with. In the structure horizontally having the inner cylinder slit at the upper portion of a core guide cylinder, since the quantity of kerosene reaching the inner cylinder slit is reduced by the presence of the metal foil 7, collection of kerosene in the inner cylinder slit is eliminated, and a phenomenon such as elongated extinguishing time or generation of foreign odor can be prevented.
