PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device, in which separation action and carrying action can be favorably performed to paper, and in which fluttering of paper can be prevented to stably achieve guide action, in a case where a paper setting mechanism is provided to a manual feed tray. SOLUTION: In this device, a paper feeding roller 44 and a pad 49a are disposed on a paper feeding part to feed paper to the manual feed tray 40 provided on a side surface of an image forming device. On each side of the pad 49a, a plurality of ribs formed in parallel are provided to a lower guide plate in a paper feeding passage 49 toward a junction part 39 with a paper carrying passage. The ribs are provided to get gradually lower from a center part sidewards. Paper dust or the like dropped and accumulated between the ribs is housed in a recessed part 49A.
