PROPERTY OUTPUT DEVICE FOR MOVING PICTURE WITH AUDIO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of discriminating an audio compression format simultaneously with output of a converted MPEG2 program stream. SOLUTION: The audio compression format of a program stream outputted from a converting means 2 is detected by an audio property detecting means 11 and outputted by an audio property file recording means 12 together with the program stream, so that the audio compression property can be discriminated at a glance. Consequently, solved are problems wherein (1) it takes a time to process the program stream outputted from the converting means 2 by using DVD authoring software etc., since its audio compression format is known and (2) some audio compression format requires large capacity.
