A disposable shorts type wearing article enabling the easy identification of indication elements from the outer surface of an extensible sheet by joining sheet pieces having the indication elements to the inner surface of the elastically extensible sheet of the wearing article and preventing the extensible sheet from being broken even if the sheet is repeatedly extended and retracted, wherein the sheet pieces (31) and (32) having the indication elements (26) are joined to the inner surface (21b) of the elastically extensible outer surface sheet (21) of the wearing article (1). An elastically extensible inner surface sheets (22) facing the inner surfaces (31b) and (32b) of the sheet pieces (31) and (32) are intermittently joined to the outer surface sheet (21) in a body circumferential direction and a vertical direction orthogonal to that direction between the edge parts of the sheet pieces (31) and (32) and a portion where the edge parts (11) and (12) of the front and rear body peripheral regions (6) and (7) of the wearing article (1) are joined to each other.
