PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saddle ride type vehicle capable of establishing simply the layout of a rear cushion and an air suction passage and allowing effective use of the space formed between an engine and the rear wheel. SOLUTION: The saddle ride type vehicle is structured so that a rear arm 73 which is coupled rotatably with a body frame 51 through a pivot 79 and the rear arm 73 and the body frame 51 are coupled together by the rear cushion 83 installed ahead of the rear wheel 56, and an air cleaner 86 is installed behind the coupling part between the top end 83a of the rear cushion 83 and the body frame 51 while the engine 52 is installed ahead of the coupling part, and the suction passage 89 from the air cleaner 86 is coupled with the engine 52, and the coupling part between the top 83a of the rear cushion 83 and the body frame 51 is located under the suction passage 89 leading from the air cleaner 86 to the engine 52.
