PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oxidation hair dye composition containing a base having good emulsion stability and imparting smoothness to the hair after application. SOLUTION: This oxidation hair dye composition consists of a first emulsion-type agent comprising (A) a cationic surfactant, (B) a nonionic surfactant, a higher alcohol, water, an alkali agent and an oxidation dye, and a second agent containing an oxidizer. The total of the formulated amounts of the cationic surfactant (A) and the nonionic surfactant (B) is regulated so as to be 0.05-5.0 mass% based on the whole amount of the composition, and the mass ratio [(A)/(B)] of the formulated cationic surfactant (A) to the nonionic surfactant (B) is regulated so as to be 1-10 in the whole composition. The molar ratio of the higher alcohol to the cationic surfactant is preferably regulated so as to be 3-15 in the whole composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
