PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method for a torque detector dispensing with trimming an output voltage of a magnetic sensor in an amplifier. SOLUTION: In this assembling method for the torque detector, two pairs comprising one or a plurality of targets of a magnetic substance provided in a rotor, and one or a plurality of magnetic sensors comprising a magnetoresistance element circuit and an amplifier, arranged opposedly to the target and for outputting detection signals according to rotation of the rotor are provided with a space along a rotary axis direction of the rotor, a torque applied onto the rotor is calculated and output based on respective detection signals output from the magnetic sensors. Gains of the amplifiers adapted to output amplitudes allowed respectively to the magnetoresistance element circuits are hierarchically classified, the amplifiers are regulated respectively to the hierarchically classified gains (S2), the amplifier regulated to the gain adapted to the output amplitude (S4) of the magnetoresistance element circuit is selected out of the amplifiers when assembling the magnetic sensor (S6), and is connected to the magnetoresistance element circuit (S8) to assemble the magnetic sensor.
