TREATMENT METHOD OF SULFATE PITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a handleability even for solidified sulfate pitch just like an illegally discarded waste. SOLUTION: Sulfate pitch is heated to a temperature exceeding 200°C and lower than 650°C and continuously heated until the weight is decreased by at least 40% and then crushed. The sulfate pitch is made porous and fragile by heating. The sulfate pitch made porous and fragile in such a manner is easily crushed to be powder. Thus crushed powder sulfate pitch is excellent in the handleability and can easily be extracted out of a drum can. The extracted sulfate pitch can be thrown to an incinerator and incinerated.
