PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify mounting work by previously providing a means for retaining a shelf board. SOLUTION: This shelf bracket device 1 is composed of a fitting part to be directly or indirectly fitted to the wall surface, and a shelf support part for placing a shelf board. An edging piece 2-2 parallel to a horizontal piece 3-1 of the shelf support part is formed on the upper end of a vertical piece 2-1 of the fitting part to hold the end of the shelf board between the horizontal piece and the edging piece. A projection 2-2a fitted to a groove formed on the upper surface of the shelf board is formed extending over the total length in the longitudinal direction on the lower surface of the edging piece, and the extension part of the horizontal piece of the shelf bearing part is formed as an inclined surface 3-1a directed downward to the wall surface.
