PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an interpolation error in the case of interpolating an image of high periodicity in which partial pixels are lacked. SOLUTION: The interpolating data of lacked pixels are obtained so that the mean value of values of a plurality of pixels constituting a group of pixels including lacked pixels is made equal to the mean value of values of a plurality of pixels constituting a group of pixels including no lacked pixel. For example, the total (SL) of values of pixels other than a lacked pixel (L) out of k pieces of pixel constituting a group (LC) of pixels including the lacked pixel (L) is obtained (1), the total (SA) of values of k pieces of pixel constituting a group (NA) of pixels including no lacked pixel is obtained (2) and a difference between the total (SL) and the total (SA) is obtained (3) to obtain the interpolating data of the lacked pixel (L).
