Elevator system with a door safety circuit

The lift installation has an electronic unit (14) with power semiconductor and a lift control (30) connected to a main fuse (18) which is connected to a safety circuit (20). The lift control is programmed so that the main fuse remains permanently attracted in fault-free normal operation of the lift. A timer (42) can be provided to trip the main fuse at regular intervals when the lift is stationary.
