<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor provided with a cylinder block, a plurality of cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block, a piston reciprocating and moving in the cylinder bores, a valve plate forming a plurality of intake holes for leading compressed fluid into the cylinder bores, and a plurality of intake valves like belt plates opening and closing the plurality of intake holes to allow the valve plate to cooperate with the cylinder block to nip, hold, and fix a basic part of the intake valve and allow deformation outside a face in a section where it opposes to the intake hole of the intake valve, and prevent vibration of specific frequency caused by vibration of the intake valve and gas pulsation from becoming conspicuous. <P>SOLUTION: This compressor is provided with the cylinder block, the plurality of cylinder bores formed in the cylinder block, the piston reciprocating and moving in the cylinder bores, the valve plate forming the plurality of intake holes for leading compressed fluid into the cylinder bores, and the plurality of intake valves like belt paltes opening and closing the plurality of intake holes. The valve plate cooperates with the cylinder block to nip, hold, and fix the basic part of the intake valve and allows deformation outside the face in the section where it opposes to the intake hole of the intake valve.
