Relates to an aqueous sulphur dioxide solution of at least one copolymer of acrolein and another vinyl compound, which copolymer consists predominantly of the vinyl compound but not less than 10% of acrolein. The other vinyl compound may be acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate or vinyl acetate.
