<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing system wherein power consumption is suppressed and sufficient performance can be maintained, and to provide an information reproduction driving control method, a program for executing the method, and a computer readable recording medium with the program stored thereon. <P>SOLUTION: In the information reproduction driving control method, the kind of a power source from which power is supplied to an information reproducing device is discriminated by a host device and the discriminated kind of the power source is informed to the information reproducing device.
