PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device for illuminating an object by constituting it so as to perform illumination at only photographing and at only necessary times, and lighting an illumination part before releasing, and to provide its illumination system. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes a photographing part 101 for photographing an object; a release switch for starting photographing by the photographing part; the illumination part 102 for irradiating illumination light toward the object; and an illumination switch for turning on/off the illumination light of the illumination part. The release switch and the illumination switch are positioned on the same axis. The illumination switch and the release switch are turned on/off by an operation of one operation member 111. The timing for turning-on of the illumination switch by operation of one operation member 111, is quicker than the timing of turning-on of the release switch.
