PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To approximately make level shifts which occur in pixel potentials caused by a parasitic capacitance that parasitically exists in a scanning signal line, uniform within a display screen. SOLUTION: An output signal VD1a of a waveform having a slope period Tslope of a voltage level decreasing so as to slope from a high level is inputted to a scanning signal line driving circuit. The output signal VD1a is the signal to define the sum of the period of the high level and the slope period Tslope into a period of an Stc signal equal to one scanning period. The scanning signal line driving circuit generates the waveform VG(j) having the amount of slope Vslope as the falling slope by using the slope period Tslope and outputs the same.
