PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel with high lightfastness and high transmittance by having no liquid crystal alignment layer on a display part of the liquid crystal display element, and by aligning a liquid crystal with a porous material and without rubbing. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel comprises the porous material 3 disposed between both substrates 1, 2 so as to make a hole direction 10 of a continuous hole 8 of the porous material 3 paralleled to a driving electric field direction 9 of a driving electric field formed with an electrode 4, and is constructed in such a way that an n-type liquid crystal 5 is aligned in the hole direction 10 of the porous material 3 when no driving voltage is applied to the electrode 4, and that the n-type liquid crystal 5 is aligned in a direction vertical to the driving electric field direction 9 and the hole direction 10 inside a plane parallel to a surface of the substrate 1 when the driving voltage is applied thereto.
