PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a ferromagnetic encoder 3 when magnetized to minimize its circumferential variation in magnetism. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a magnetic encoder, firstly magnetic powder is mixed with unvulcanized rubber to form sheet material by using an extruder and/or a roll. Then the sheet material is punched out from planar direction to form annular material which is heated and compression-molded in central axis direction to be vulcanized and formed into a ring. After that, S and N poles of this ring are alternately magnetized circumferentially, resulting in bringing the magnetic encoder with S and N poles alternatively magnetized circumferentially.
