PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument capable of making clear a parting line (boundary) between a matting face of an inner circumferential face and a bright face of an end face, and easy to discriminate clearly a boundary between a dial and a peripheral portion thereof in view point of design when illuminated at night. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument is provided with an instrument dial panel 5 provided with a dial attaching hole 16, a meter ring 17 formed into a cylindrical shape, having one end insertion-engaged with the dial attaching hole 16, and having the end face and the inner circumferential face respectively formed into the bright face 19 and the matting face 18, the dial 20 arranged inside the meter ring 17 and provided with a scale 25 in a circumferential edge part, and an illumination means S for illuminating the matting face 18 of the meter ring 17. A satined face formed when forming a resin ring for the meter ring 17 is provided in an inner circumferential face of the resin ring, and the bright face 19 and the matting face 18 formed by plating-treating the resin ring are provided in the meter ring 17.
