PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an engine capable of collecting coolant of higher temperature to a heat insulating vessel and suppressing insufficiency of improvement in warming-up nature of the engine due to flowing coolant in the heat insulating vessel to a water jacket. SOLUTION: The cooling device for the engine 1 is provided with a cooling circuit R cooling the engine 1 by circulating cooling water, a thermal storage circuit H for using high temperature in the cooling circuit R for warming up or the like of the engine 1 at a time of next engine start, and a temperature raising circuit S raising temperature of cooling water in the thermal storage circuit H. When temperature of cooling water in the cooling circuit R is higher than oil temperature after completion of engine warming-up, the cooling water is collected in the heat insulating vessel 14 in the thermal storage circuit H. The cooling water in the temperature raising circuit S receives heat from oil in the engine 1 at an oil cooler 17. When it is determined that temperature of the cooling water becomes higher than temperature of cooling water in the thermal storage vessel 14, collection of cooling water from the temperature raising circuit S to the heat insulating vessel 14 is started.
