SPINNERET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CIRCULAR CROSS SECTION YARN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase productivity of fiber producing treatment by extending spinneret wipe life. SOLUTION: The melt extrusion spinneret plate has a non-circular capillary orifice and forms at least one filament of circular cross-sectional shape. The non-circular cross-sectional shape of the extrusion capillary is used to extrude filaments of circular cross-sectional shape and extends the spinneret wipe life by lessening the amount of thermal deposits.
