METHOD FOR RING-OPENING POLYMERIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for narrowing the molecular weight distribution of the product in no need of the pre-step for catalyst activation to carry out the polyaddition polymerization of epoxide by opening the epoxide ring with an alcohol and/or an amine. SOLUTION: The polyaddition polymerization of epoxide to an alcohol and/or an amine is carried out in the presence of a metallocene complex and a Lewis acid. The product produced by this method is narrowed in the molecular weight distribution and the residual of free (unreacting) alcohol or amine can be decreased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
