PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging box which ensures an excellent function for protecting an article to be packed, and enhances the strength at low cost. SOLUTION: The packaging box has an outer box 1a formed in a cylindrical shape by first and second side surface parts 2 and 3 formed by extending two ridges facing each other of a bottom plate 1a and first and second top surface parts 4 and 5 formed by extending and folding the first and second side surface parts 2 and 3, and third and fourth side surface parts 8 and 9 extending from folding parts 10 and 11 adhering to both end parts of the bottom plate 1a to close both end opening parts 1c of the outer box 1a, and both sides of the third and fourth side surface parts 8 and 9 and both ends of the folding parts 10 and 11 extend in the right-to-left direction, respectively. Extension parts 8a and 9a on both sides of the third and fourth side surface parts 8 and 9 can be shortened thereby, and the shock-absorbing function, and the protective function and the transport quality of an article to be packed can be enhanced by extension parts 12 and 13 of the folding parts 10 and 11.
