PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag consisting of a stitched portion having high pressure resistance by using a base cloth of high strength though it is lightweight. SOLUTION: An airbag main body base cloth is a plain weave fabric formed of yarn having the size of≤400 decitexes, preferably≤250 decitexes, the strength of≥8.85 cN/dtex, preferably,≥9.25 cN/dtex, and the cover factor of the fabric is≥870, preferably,≥900. An outer peripheral sewn portion of the airbag is sewn by using a sewing thread of the thickness of No. 20 or higher with two rows of stitches while the hand-stitching number is≥four stitches/cm, and the distance between seams is 2.2-4 mm.
