PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel unit having a structure capable of rendering a pattern display area wide or narrow. SOLUTION: A cover member 28a and a cover body 28b of a movable member are provided on the front of each of reels 27 (27a, 27b and 27c) constituting a reel unit 26. When the cover body 28b is in a closing state (lower Fig.), a pattern display area not covered by the cover member 28a and the cover body 28b is an effective display area 29 displaying a pattern arranged on a winning line. When the cover body 28b is in an opening state (lower Fig.), a pattern performance area 29b is visible to a game player as well as the effective display area 29, and an integrated performance of the pattern displayed on the pattern performance area 29b with a performance image displayed by an image display device (not shown in the figure) and a reflective plate (a half mirror) can be implemented.
