Headrest comprising a supporting frame (4) that fits onto a seat back and a cushion with a relatively supple front portion (6) for the head, a relatively rigid rear portion (7) on the frame and a cover, is produced by molding the front portion separately, placing it in a mould (11) with the frame and covering layer and injecting foam into the mould to overmold the rear portion onto the front portion and frame inside the cover.
