Cosmetic and dermatological compositions having >=1 aqueous phase and containing creatine, creatinine, creatine-phosphate, -sulfate, -acetate or - ascorbate and/or a creatine derivative esterified with a mono- or poly-ol at the carboxylic group is such that >= 1 aqueous phase contains >= 1 dissolved electrolyte so as to give such aqueous phases ionic strengths of >= 0.050 mol./liter.
