The photographic recording on e.g. 18 carat and white gold has cleaning and degreasing by ultrasound, washing in a 100 per cent caustic soda bath and clearing with water for impregnation with photosensitive emulsion. On contacting of the positive, the emulsion promotes development, for application of a protective coating with continued dropwise acid attack of the metal and clearing with water, solvent and acetone. EMBODIMENT - The product also receives a final protective coating.
